Never look back, walk tall, act fine

For over a year now, a Yellow Skirt has been roaming the globe.

Flying between Australia and New Zealand, America and Canada, with a stop-over in Italy and a holiday in Cuba, she has travelled widely, and enjoyed many adventures.

And now she's landed in the middle of the UK - with me!

Don't let me hear you say life's taking you nowhere.

TYS - on loan
1980s silk blouse - vintage shop
Shoe boots, fishnets and bangles - charity shopped
Hat fascinator - gift from Patsy
Cancer zodiac pendant - gift from Vix
Orange flower - gift from Melanie
Smug look of infinite disdain and superiority - made by me

The Yellow Skirt brings sunshine with it.

She demands confidence.

No point being afraid of bold colour or high visibility.

Embrace the freakery...

the saucery...

 and the sisterhood.

I'll stick with you, baby, for a thousand years...

Nothing's gonna touch you...

in these golden years.

Linking to Judith's Hat Attack, while awaiting directions for the Travelling Yellow Skirt's next destination.

Thanks, of course, go to Melanie and Sarah, who set the Travelling Yellow Skirt Freak Show in motion, and to all the other bloggers who have worn her so wonderfully well.

These are our golden years; why waste them?

Bloody hell, you must have been on Picmonkey all weekend! Love the homage to the Christine Keeler shot. The TYS looks absolutely fabulous on you but what are you adding to it? There must be some record that it finally reached Sheffield, perhaps an appliqued knife and fork? The fuck-off fascinator is wonderful too.
Even tho I am now singing Golden Years I can't get Val Doonican out of my head...thanks mate. xxx

That's such a great story - The gallery of ladies wearing it made me laugh. ( in a good way!)

Oh golly! What a fabulous array of digital artistic-ness for your version of yellow skirt fashion. A real pleasure to view and read. Incidentally, I LOVE your yellow skirt and sweater outfit in your previous post.

Connie said...

Oh how perfectly Curtise~esque. You are now required to wear yellow as much as possible! Beautiful.

I thought for a while that either freakishly tall or all the other models were midgets! Then I realised you'd hoiked it up to your chest under the blouse :-) But you wear it well (another singer reference!)

The Yellow Skirt has done it again! She really does bring out the best of us, it's uncanny really! Who would have thought a bright big yellow skirt could be such a chameleon!

You look fabulous Curtise! I can't stop scrolling back up and reviewing all the amazing editing techniques you've used. A bit genius, I say! I think my favourite is the red/yellow/star background. Now, are you gonna leave us and run off to the circus?

I love that first comment about the sun shining out your ass! LOL!

Your look of infinite disdain is well practiced, but the TYS can stand up to you any day. I love the way you've worn it with all the signatures at the back, and I also love all your graphic-y sorcery and backgrounds. I want to go to that Freak Show!

Bloody fantastic! What are you going to add to the skirt??

Hahahh, yes, the sun DOES shine out of your arse!!!
How very splendid to see that yellow skirt in your hands! And on your arse!!! The sun always shines on my PC when you're around, just even brighter today!!! You've styled it beautifully, like a Mistress of Super Sylishness! Such an awesome jacket, incidentally!
YOWZA!
Loving YOU!

Love how you styled it - you look gorgeous! It took me a minute to see that you'd hoiked it up under your blouse, too!

LOOK AT YOU!!! That yellow skirt is magical!! I love all the different kinds of pictures, especially the ones that look sort of sepia but the skirt is yellow. You artist, you. I'm amazed that you were able to hike up the skirt and still have that tiny waist, too. I love the jacket and boots, and your headpiece is perfect.

Thank you for sharing your iteration of the YS, sharing the joy with us. XXXXOOOO!!

You and the yellow skirt have dazzled me with delight. What great photos! The YS brings sunshine, but so do you, with you creativity, your wit and your ability to wear a stunning fascinator with panache. Thank you for sharing with Hat Attack!

It's been so interesting to watch different women wear this yellow skirt, each in her own style, each representing it in her own way. You look dazzling in it and in that wonderful headpiece. Love all the photos.

Curtise, never has a "smug look of infinite disdain and superiority" looked so joyful. Thank you so much for this! I needed an injection of your particular brand of wit-fluckery today. I'm happy that FYS finally made it to you... Your High Art made the wait worthwhile. Hugs and kisses from moi.

Hello Curtise,

Cecil Beaton could not have done better justice to the Yellow Skirt than you!

How it becomes you! And, teamed with the silk blouse, it transports into a different, more elegant age when tea was sipped from China cups in elegant drawing rooms and conversation was an art form. But, as is your own, highly individual way, darling Curtise, the addition of the fishnets, the boots and the fascinatior brings the entire look bang up to date.

As newcomers here, we have no idea how the Yellow Skirt has appeared previously, but this has certainly brightened up a dull Monday in Blogland for us. You wear it so well!

Perfect images to wake up to! Thank you, Curtise. Lest you ever wonder if you make a difference, you do! We're iced in here for the day, so I was SO happy for the Yellow Skirt Sunshine, radiated by you ... the center of our Vintage Universe. We orbit humbly!
Enough hyperbole? Okay ... love the boots and jacket as well (especially the boots!) but the fascinator is fascinating!

Golden Years, indeed! That's quite a powerful glow coming from your nether regions. I'm so glad you decided to do the post, and you've really gone to town with the photo editing. I very much like the idea of having the skirt as the colour focus in a Black and white shot. Your look of smug distain is just the perfect accessory.

I love that first comment about the sun really shining out of your arse! LOL

That hat/fascinator really takes the whole look back to the days of bar maids during the gold rush. I think you would have fit right in. Also I love how you pulled the skirt up so it is a dress. Clever! Those barmaids are so much smarter than we give them credit for ; )

That blouse from the 1980's can double as a jacket from Downton Abbey.

How can one skirt make me feel so happy? There is just pure joy somehow entwined in the fibers. Or it could be the pizazz with which it is worn by each gorgeous lady . Or maybe it is just what it stands for. Just love it! I am a teeny bit jealous that it has traveled so much more than me though. XXX
